Heather and Greg are the coolest! We were able to hang out with them for a long time one evening in St. Petersburg for their engagement photography session, and when i say a long time i really mean a long time! We started photographing at 4 pm and after a ton of fun, some pictures, dinner, clothing changes, and just goofing off we finally finished at 11pm! It was so much fun doing their pictures, they were up for anything and everything. I asked for their suggestions and they gave a few and we had a great time. We shot their engagement photos in Straub Park next to the Vinoy hotel and Vinoy park.

We posted Mike and Mary’s Wedding pictures and totally forgot to do a post on their engagement pictures! Here they are, The love continues!

We started the day at Florida Botanical gardens which is perfect for engagements and weddings! They even have a Wedding Garden there, Its beautiful!

The place is perfect for pictures but the heat of the day was not, so we went to clearwater beach and finished our engagement picture session under the clearwater pier!

Soraya and Gary met each other in college at the University of Tampa, so how fitting was it to shoot their engagement photos there. University of Tampa is located right across the street from First Baptist Church of Tampa where we shot Rob and Leah’s wedding. We absolutely love shooting on campus at University of Tampa, there’s so much there; nice lawns with huge oak trees, cool sculptures, access to hallways and rooms inside, and a really awesome historical building, which actually used to be a Tampa hotel. We had an excellent time meandering the lawns and hallways with Soraya and Gary, taking every opportunity to get some great shots! The Tampa skyline hangs right over the river and we were able to capture some of the buildings in our photographs.

Soraya and Gary lead us around the hallways at University of Tampa. Since they are alums, they knew where to go. It felt like an adventure for us.

We spent some time with Erin and Jared photographing them for their engagement. We took a stroll around Straub Park in St. Pete, which is located near the St. Pete Pier and Vinoy Park. We had some fun just lying in the grass and relaxing in the St. Pete sun. Erin and Jared were a lot of fun to hang out with.

St. Pete offers a lot of opportunities for photography, with it’s waterfront hotels and various marinas it can, at times, look like Monaco, especially when St. Pete hosts the annual Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Straub Park in St. Pete is a really nice location for an engagement shoot. We loved the overall laid back feeling of this shoot.

Cigar City Engagements | Kathleen and Bo

So, here we are again, Ybor City, last time we shot engagement photos for Star and Aaron. This time for Kathleen and Bo’s engagement session. We can’t get enough of Ybor’s brick roads, alleys, and overall coolness. It just seems like there’s brick everywhere. Ybor has actually been a monumental figure in the production of cigars in Florida. There’s a ton of old factories in Ybor, most turned to condos or hotels, but some still remain in working order and there are some small cigar shops with men rolling away. It’s nice for a photographer to be in such a rustic environment, there’s a lot to shoot! Which makes it even more fun when you get a chance to photograph a couple for their engagement!

Ybor city is a lot of fun to shoot at, especially because it’s located so close to Tampa and because three of my (Matt) favorite places are there, urban outfitters, Samurai blue (I love sushi!!!), and FreshMouth!
